Banpu Investment (China) Limited or BIC is a Chinese subsidiary of Banpu Public Company Limited, an international versatile energy provider based in Thailand. With four decades of experience in international and local businesses, Banpu has been expanding its growth in the Asia-Pacific region throughout its three core groups of businesses, which are Energy Resources, Energy Generation and Energy Technology. Headquartered in Beijing, BIC manages two joint ventures of underground coal mines in Shanxi and Henan Provinces, three CHP power plants in the northern region of China, and Shanxi Lu Guang Power Co., Ltd. With the key strategy of “Greener & Smarter”, BIC entered into renewable energy sector by investing in solar power projects in Shandong, Zhejiang and Jiangsu Province since 2016. In response to the growing market demand, BIC has expanded into international and domestic coal trading markets since 2017 and creates synergies between coal and power business. With a combination of international professionals, a management team from its parent company as well as the competent local team, BIC is able to successfully enhance its Chinese operations.
