Banpu Joins 50th Anniversary Celebration of Thailand-China Diplomatic Relations

On 23 June 2025, Banpu had the honor of participating in the national-level celebration marking the 50th Anniversary of the Establishment of Diplomatic Relations between the Kingdom of Thailand and the People’s Republic of China. The ceremony, co-hosted by the two governments, was held at China World Hotel, Beijing, and constituted one of only two official events held to mark this commemorating this significant milestone, with the other taking place in Bangkok.

H.E. Mr. Wan Muhamad Noor Matha, President of the National Assembly of Thailand and H.E. Mr. Shohrat Zakir, Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress attended the event and delivered speeches. The event highlighted the five decades of robust diplomatic, economic, and cultural cooperation between the two countries.

Mr. Kirana Limpaphayom, Chief Operating Officer of Banpu Group, and Mr. Pilun Pochanart, Country Head of Banpu China represented the company at the event. As a Thai enterprise with over two decades of investments in China's energy sector, Banpu's participation highlighted its steadfast commitment to supporting China's sustainable development and enhancing long-term partnerships in the region, and being proud to be recognized as a trusted partner in this important bilateral relationship.
