Zhangzi Gaohe 2x660MW Low Calorific Coal Power Generation Project of Shanxi Lu Guang Power Generation Co., Ltd. is completed and put into production

On Jun 22, Zhangzi Gaohe 2x660MW low calorific coal power generation project of Shanxi Lu Guang Power Generation Co., Ltd. was completed and put into production. H.E. Mr. Arthayudh Srisamoot, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to the People's Republic of China, Mr. Han Chunlin, Deputy Party Secretary of Changzhi City and Party Secretary of Zhangzi County, Mr. Liu Feng, Deputy Director of Shanxi State-owned Assets Supervision & Administration Commission, participated in the completion ceremony.

Shanxi Lu Guang Power Generaton Co., Ltds is a sino-foreign joint venture approved by Shanxi Provincial Department of Commerce, Gemeng International Energy Co., Ltd., Anhui Wenergy Company Limited, and Banpu Power Investment Co., Ltd. (Thailand) each holds the shares in proportion of 35%, 35% and 30% respectively. The project started construction in December 2015 with a total investment of RMB 5.227 billion Yuan. After the production of the project, the annual power generation will reach 6.6 billion kWh, the annual low calorific coal consumption will be approx. 3.45 million tons, the generated electricity will be sent to Central China Grid through ultra-high voltage transmission line, the annual output value will be 2.5 billion Yuan and the annual profit tax will be 340 million Yuan. At the same time, the project is designed to supply heat to the urban areas of Changzhi City and Zhangzi County in an area of 14 million square meters with significant economic benefit, social benefit and environmental benfit.

Han Chunlin, on behalf of Changzhi municipal party committee and the municipal government, Zhangzi County party committee and the county government, welcomed Ambassador Mr. Arthayudh Srisamoot and his delegation for the visit, congratulated the official completion and production commencement of SLG project and gave a brief introduction of Zhangzi Coutny. He said, with the high attention and strong support from the Thai Embassy in China, the successful completion and commissioning of the Lu Guang plant will definitely play a positive role in promoting the development of Changzi County and even Changzhi City’s high quality transformation, expanding the opening up to the outside world and promoting the healthy development of Sino-Thai economic and trade cooperation relations. He also wished the H.E. the Ambassador to stay longer and visit more in Changzhi to personally experience the charming natural scenery and long history and culture of Changzhi, and feel the vitality of the vigorous development, so as to further deepen exchanges and achieve win-win cooperation.

Mr. Arthayudh Srisamoot expressed his appreciation to all the stakeholders which participated in the project construction. He said, the completion marks an important milestone of this joint venture between Thailand and China. The project could serve as a showcase of another success story for strengthening investment and partnerships between our two countries. It also helps translate President Xi Jinping’s Belt and Road Initiative into effective practice for high quality win-win cooperation that brings about the betterment of our peoples.

After the event, Mr. Han Chunlin and H.E. Ambassador Mr. Arthayudh Srisamoot planted a evergreen tree symbolizing the evergreen friendship between China and Thailand.

During his visit to Changzhi, Ambassador Mr. Arthayudh Srisamoot and his delegation also visited Lu’an Chemical Group Gaohe Energy Company Ltd, Zhangze Lake National Wetland Park and Changzhi Municipal Museum.
